SEVER DO VOUGA
Sever do Vouga stands out for its nature since around 70% of the municipality is forested, where rivers and waterfalls are the ex-libris.
The Cabreia and Frágua da Pena waterfalls, the Lordelo and Gresso rivers, and the Poço de S. Tiago bridge are some of the city’s landmarks. In addition, it is possible to find several watermills along the way, some still operational.
With traces of rock art, it is possible to confirm the passage of prehistoric people in the region.
Another route that attracts visitors to the municipality is the Ecopista do Vale do Vouga, which runs along the tracks where the locomotives of the Vale do Vouga line once passed.
At the table, Sever do Vouga offers one of the most emblematic gastronomic products – the lamprey. It is also known for the roasted veal with oven rice and the kid. Regarding regional sweets, blueberries and “Beijinhos de Sever” share the throne.
