ESTARREJA

Home to the Baixo Vouga Lagunar, Estarreja combines culture and nature, having rice fields, reeds, salt flats, seaweed, and artisanal fishing.

In Pardilhó, there are still shipyards that continue to build the Moliceiro boats, which serve as inspiration for the region’s handicrafts.

Regarding its gastronomy, the highlights are the eels cooked in different ways, “rojões”, sponge cake from Salreu, bread (“padas”), and sweet “regueifa”.

There are city and rural options to visit. In the streets, there are Art Nouveau buildings and several examples of Urban Art. On the lagoon shores, Estarreja is known for being one of the best places for birdwatching.

Every year, the Entrudo Estarrajense festivities fill the streets of the municipality and invite everyone to a display of joy, rhythm, and color.
