aNADIA

In the heart of the Bairrada Region, the municipality of Anadia is a land of wines and vineyards, which gives it a unique landscape.

With five centuries of existence, Anadia was crossed by the road that joined Olissipo (Lisbon) to Cale (Porto), which left several testimonies of the Roman presence.

One of the main attractions of the municipality is thermalism, as the thermal waters are rich in iron and magnesium in Curia and Vale da Mó.

In Anadia, the highlight goes to the “Leitão da Bairrada”, the roasted suckling pig, traditional in the region, and to the suckling pig “cabidela”, “sarrabulho”, and “negalhos”. Also, sweet rice, sweet vermicelli, “barrigas de freira”, and “Amores da Curia” are mandatory sweets.

The municipality is also known for its rag dolls made in the parish of Tamengos and for its basketwork.
